Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a Plant Swap?

Plant swaps are a fun event for people to gather to exchange plants, cuttings and seeds as well as a great way to diversify your plant collection. Here you will meet lots of fellow plant lovers and be able to share tips and tricks.

How does it work?

All plant swappers will get a 50x50cm area of table to set up their plants on. Once everyone's stalls are set out, the Botanica gang will come around and help label everyone's plants with the traffic light system: Common plants will get a GREEN label, unusual plants will be ORANGE and rare exotic plants will be RED. Once the swap begins, walk around and meet fellow swappers and using the traffic light system you can swap like for like. If you would like to exchange plants that don’t match colours, you are very welcome too as long as both parties are happy to do so.

What can I bring?

Plants and cuttings (rooted and unrooted) that are healthy and pest-free;

  • Clearly labeled with plant names and care instructions - this will be provided on the day!

  • Presented nicely (e.g., in a pot or a temporary container)

What time is set up?

Swappers arrive at 2.30pm to be given their spot by one of the Botanica team, swap starts at 3pm.

Can we buy plants?

Yes! One of the Botanica team will be running a stall full of lots of fun and unusual plants for anyone to purchase.

Is there parking?
